The time in which you are free from the routine work is known as leisure. It is the time in which you have the opportunity to do your hobbies like reading books, go for picnic etc. People feel relaxed in their leisure time. Yet some people think that leisure means the time in which you can wander aimlessly and some people think that it is a curse. Rather, it is a boon. Depending on the attitude, leisure time can be utilised in performing several productive and constructive activities. People doze off in their leisure time but that is wrong.

Leisure time can be utilised in doing things that are fruitful and will be beneficial to one's mind, body and social life. People do meditation in their leisure time. They also do yogas to benefit their spirit, mind and body. Some times people also tend to do social work like constructing temples, old age homes, orphanages etc. they say that this gives them peace of mind.  Playing sports and doing physical work like going into gymnasiums help a lot in improving their physique. Introspection is the best way to utilise leisure time. By introspection one gets an opportunity to know about himself. Leisure doesn't mean indulging in heavy work and tough activities. It also doesn't mean that it is a wastage of time. In fact leisure means an opportunity to have some thing that is different from the routine work. Leisure helps you to get a chance to improve yourself in several fields.

People who does not believe in leisure suffer from boredom, tension, depression and stress. Leisure time helps you to relieve from stress. Being drunk does not help you being away from stress. Leisure doesn't mean that you can be drunk. You should not sit idle during leisure time as 'An idle mind is devil's workshop'. one must make himself get indulged in some or the other activities that are progressive and constructive.

To be stress-free and tension-free you must follow the below maxim:

All work and no play makes jack a dull boy.
