Media Players on the Battlefield

Hey readers! I've done comparison between various Media Players available throughout the world, obviously the famous ones. Just take a look at that.Almost 99% computers in the world have a sound card. and almost everybody enjoy music on their computers. Music on a computer can only be enjoyed by appropriate music playing software. There are variety of media playing softwares available in market and also most of them are free of cost. Microsoft gives Windows Media Player built in it's operating system. This article is especially for those who are tired of using one media player and who are looking for best among them.

Currently I am having following media players installed on my computer:

1.    Real Player 11
2.    Windows Media Player 11
3.    Apple iTunes 8
4.    Apple QuickTime Player 7.6
5.    Winamp 5.54

Among them, in the order of Best to Good are:

Rank          Media Player
1               Apple iTunes 8
2               Windows Media Player 11
3               Winamp 5.54
4               Apple QuickTime Player 7.6
5               RealPlayer 11

Let's discuss in the descending order that is from rank 5 to rank 1.

RealPlayer has been a boring player since it's first version as they never paid attention to their looks but now, as I see, the 11th version is quite nice providing a stylish glassy interface. It's library is quite organized but it takes a time to load. Also still it has quite few features like the CD burner and so on which makes it look like the Windows Media Player 11. Also, the all new visualizations makes it cool for listening to audio. But still, it has got a very poor video quality. The videos played do not get up to the mark. Also, it cannot make up the volume. Watching the Apple QuickTime movies on RealPlayer is a horrible experience. The audio sounds very low while the video quality is also not quite good. It appears jagged lines. Still, it has managed to get the fifth position the  'Best 5 Media Players in the World'.

In the fourth position comes the Apple QuickTime 7.5 player with stylish polished metal interface. QuickTime Player is quite cool in it's looks but it lacks a basic requirement. It cannot play files in a sequence. Also, it does not have a built in library which makes organization of music tough job. Unlike other players, it can display static images which makes it unique. However, we are discussing about Media Players and not about some photo editor software. So, that feature won't help it in exceeding the ranking. Good video quality prevents Apple's QuickTime Player from going down below the fourth rank. It also has a feature called "Export..."  which allows users to export music and video files into different formats which we would rather call a converter. QuickTime with built in Music Converter is quite nice. Also, it allows multiple audio files to be played simultaneously.

With Winamp 5.54, I am recently having problem with playing audio files. I re-installed the program thrice but yet the problem could not be avoided. I was having problem about audio playback. When I played audio files present in library the winamp just fast-forwarded all files and the entire playback could not be heard. I tried all sort of things like setting the audio playback speed to 1x and so on but nothing works. This disappoints me about the winamp player. This occurred on many other computers also and thus this bug drops down winamp to third position. At another angle, winamp looks great. It is a perfect media player; except having bit problems in playing video files. But the current buggy problem has dropped down the winamp considerably. Also the winamp library adds some junk items also including windows sounds. This feature also disappoints me a lot. If in the category of Audio players, Winamp 5.54 will certainly earn a gold because, it not only offers great music but also great themes and so much more to customize.

Let's cheer up for Windows Media Player 11 which has now earned a second position in 'Best 5 Media Players In The World' by almost everything, leading from stunning glassy looks to audio and video playbacks. Windows Media Player 11 has strived hard to get this position. Actually while comparing we were in dilemma about whom to choose? At last we pointed out some small things that were not in Windows Media Player 11 but were in iTunes 8. First of all,  the library display of windows media player is not up to the mark. You cannot view all the items in your computer like that in iTunes 8. Also when you search any song, the names of song appear in groups, and what more, you also cannot customize groups. There's a solution to it by narrowing the search, but still it should be able to provide you this facility. I would certainly give points generously for the graphics and the wide range of skins that it provides but still, Windows Media Player 11's Audio quality is not up to the mark. I am not saying that it is bad. It is better than other media players but still it is a bit lower than iTunes 8.

I don't know what to say about iTunes 8 in this section because most of it I have said above but still I would like to say that it is the best media player I have ever seen in a computer. Also, it's simple brushed metal design makes it even more cool. Though it does not provide options to have skins or even cannot play Windows Media Video and Audio files, we selected it as the best media player in the world. Better than others, it's sound quality just blows up everything. If you use iTunes 8 to listen to Sean Paul's Temperature; My god, you'll surely start dancing. It also offers sound enhancer which just enhances the sound quality to great extent. Also the sound check neutralizes the volume levels of the music file. QuickTime movie files are played remarkably. Even if you view the video in full screen view, it can be seen quite clearly. Certainly, this is the best Media player I have ever seen in my life. So, what's next? Let's Cheer up for Apple's great achievement!!! The iTunes 8 !!!!!
